About
Jorge Penadés (b. Málaga, 1985) investigates and designs new possibilities for our built environment. Influenced by Mediterranean culture, Penadés Office works across objects, spaces and strategies, addressing ecological, social and cultural challenges. Often rethinking materials and techniques, the office uses design to uncover the hidden potential of what already exists.
Recent projects include Alhacena, a public spatial infrastructure designed for the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid (2026); Uprooted, an ongoing investigation into Spain’s olive-oil industry (2025–ongoing); Camper’s store at the Shin-Marunouchi Building in Tokyo (2025); The Final (Group) Show, co-curated with Matylda Krzykowski at Dropcity in Milan (2023); and a limited-edition furniture collection developed for Berluti, part of the LVMH Group (2021).
Penadés´s work has been internationally recognized in cultural and commercial contexts. He has lectured at leading institutions, including the V&A, and exhibited in museums such as the Mudac in Lausanne and the National Design Museum in Stockholm. His work has been sold through design galleries including The Future Perfect in New York and Marta in Los Angeles. His Structural Skin project is part of the permanent collection at the Vitra Design Museum.
