About
Jorge Penadés (b. Málaga, 1985) investigates and designs new possibilities for our built environment. Influenced by Mediterranean culture, Penadés Office works across objects and spaces, addressing ecological, social and cultural challenges. Often questioning existing ecosystems, the office explores their potential, identifies unexpected relationships and generates new forms of value.
This approach can be traced across recent projects of different scales and contexts: Alhacena, a public spatial infrastructure designed for the Museo Reina Sofía in Madrid (2026); Uprooted, an ongoing investigation into Spain’s olive-oil industry (2025–ongoing); Camper’s store at the Shin-Marunouchi Building in Tokyo (2025); The Final (Group) Show, co-curated with Matylda Krzykowski at Dropcity in Milan (2023); and a limited-edition furniture collection developed for Berluti, part of the LVMH Group (2021).
Penadés’ work has been internationally recognized in cultural, commercial and publishing contexts. He has lectured at leading institutions, including the V&A, and exhibited in museums such as Mudac in Lausanne and Nationalmuseum in Stockholm. His work has been represented by design galleries including The Future Perfect in New York and Marta in Los Angeles. His practice has also been featured in T Magazine – The New York Times, while Architectural Digest USA named him “The One to Watch” in its July / August 2025 issue. His Structural Skin project is part of the permanent collection at the Vitra Design Museum.
